Optical cables were laid on the ground midway up the mountain.
They were laid jointly by China (ZTT) and the Tanzanian government(TTCL), but appear to have been destroyed by a forest fire.
→ The plan is to choose a method of burying the Solution BIRD cable shallowly along routes with fewer forest fires.
